Hearing the hum of a body, breath reminds us that we share this earth together. Breath reminds us, too, of all that can be taken away. With acceptance of the impermanence of our bodies, we greet the mourning process that lays ahead. In three stages, we evoke those who are lost, beyond the scope of mere memory. With intention, they are placed back into the world around us. Together we must undo the rituals we have been taught as we tailor our own grief.
